AUSTIN, TX – After reviewing the candidates and their positions, the Republican Liberty Caucus has confirmed what most Texas Republicans already know, that there is only one candidate for Lieutenant Governor who has the honesty, integrity and essential skills to serve the state in one of its most important elective offices – Jerry Patterson.
This is a race where we are fortunate to have candidates with established records to look at, and unlike many other races this season the four candidates have debated extensively. In the debates Patterson has stood out for his command of current issues facing the state and his intelligent solutions to ongoing problems, in keeping with his record as a leader in the legislature and as Land Commissioner. His important roles in expanding gun rights for Texas citizens and in charting a sensible course for immigration policy for the Republican Party are particularly notable.
Yet what really sets Jerry Patterson apart from his competitors in this race is that he has the character of a statesman, dedicated to sound government and championing the interests of the people of Texas. In a field which includes a discredited establishment hack, an empty suit and one of the most dishonest politicians in the state, Patterson stands head and shoulders above the competition.
The Lieutenant Governor occupies a uniquely powerful role in Texas government and the opportunity to have a leader of Patterson’s quality in that position to counterbalance the corrupting influence of Speaker Strauss and the ambitions of the Democrats is too great to pass up. We believe this will be an important step in restoring the kind of limited and responsible government Texans deserve.
Join us at the polls on March 4th and vote for Jerry Patterson for Lieutenant Governor.
